Gene Co-expression Networks
Reconstructing and mining co-expression networks to identify candidate genes involved in specialised metabolite biosynthesis across Brassicales.
01 — About
I am a bioinformatics and computational systems biology researcher in Malaysia, based at the Institute of Systems Biology (INBIOSIS), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). My work sits at the interface of biology and data science: I apply artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning and statistical modelling to make sense of large-scale biological datasets.
My research spans plant and microbial systems biology — from how plants biosynthesise sulfur-containing compounds and defence metabolites, to comparative and functional genomics of bacteria and fungi. I work with gene co-expression networks, multi-omics integration, and curated biological databases such as SuCComBase.
